DIY CAI
I took some junkyard parts (for $12.49) and converted my SRI to a CAI. Now the intake gets nice cold air rushing in the front air dam versus it sucking hot air from right next to the engine. and when the rainy season starts up (octoberish) it will take about 15 minutes if that, to switch it back. Bottom line is for $12.49, i got a VERY noticeable increase in power and sound.
heres a vid showing how i set it up.

RE: DIY CAI
wow, i was actaully gonna ask a question here on HCF the other day about how to convert my SRI to CAI cuz i got my buddys second pipe from his CAI and was gonna convert mine over, but i couldnt figure out to attach the second pipe lol i know it sounds like a noob question, but i really couldnt figure it out.
lol and now watching your video, my question is still unanswered, but i give ya props on that intake. Duct tape?!?! haha how does hte power compare to the old SRI?

RE: DIY CAI
first of all theres a hose clamp right now where the duct tape used to be. that video was taken before it was 100% done and functional. i bought some hose clamps today and used one to connect the two flexjoints that had the tape on them before. As far as difference goes, i had my friend drive it (he's driven my car many times) and his exact words were "holy sh*t, what did you do to this thing?!" The sound is deeper (because now the sound travels through a much longer tube. But the biggest difference is the newfound pull my car suddenly has. because in my setup, not only is the air colder, but its quickly rushing in the front air dam. Bottom line is i got a huge difference for $12.49 and about 45min-1hr's worth of labor. i hope i answered your question though. if anyone else has any questions please let me know.
