or you could do what I did... single exhaust to the axle, split after the axle to two universal mufflers (DNX, 3.5" slanttip).... with that setup, I fail to see how it's any different than thoseany 4.5" or 5" muffler. Oh, btw... it sounds no different than a single exhaust... and if anyone's wondering, the only reason I have a dual exhaust is because I have a Black Widow rear bumper that's set up for duals.

Cost: $160 for mufflers, $140 to run the piping/hang the mufflers

i think body kits with dual exhaust oulets and only one muffler look sooo ricey. Either you should have thought before you bought a kit with two outlets, or you need a dual exhaust.

I say get a Y pipe, then get at THE MOST 2" piping on each side, just to keep the backpressure (i dont want another backpressure war, but i've just heard if your running dual, 2" piping is prime)

Do you already have a kit with two exhaust outlets? What does your rear bumper look like?

I have dual exhaust on my d16 and it sounds great, but has really no added performance. I got it done at a local shop and theyran 2 1/4 Y pipe. I mainly got it for the anti-ricey sound and planned on getting the black widow rear bumper with the dual cut-outs. I know you said that you already arent going dual, and thats a great choice, since the only reason anybody should go dual is for the bumper reason. I'm turboing my car this week and I have a kteller 3" exhaust, and thats all anybody will ever need. So FYI to anybody else considering dual exhaust on a civic, tried and tested, and waste of money.

true true, but if a body kit has dual exhaust cut outs, i think it looks horrible with just one muffler. If your gonna do it, get 1.75" or 2"piping (to keep a little backpressure) with a Y-pipe and two identicle mufflers.
