Ebay Mufflers: Yay or Nay?
Hmm...I was thinking about getting one of those kinds of mufflers too..but it's this one:
92-00 Honda Civic 2/4DR Carbon N1 Axleback Exhaust Muffler
Sooo if this kind of muffler isn't all it's cracked up to be then where would we find good mufflers that are like this but of good quality. AND...How much would it cost? More or less?

from my experience (and from what I can tell, many other's) exhausts are generally a get-what-you-pay-for kind of thing. If you're only dropping $100 bucks on an axle back, the metal is probably sub-par and will rust out within a year or so. Thats just how it goes. Properly modding cars is an expensive hobby.... thus "ricers" were born.
I have a Flowmaster 60 series muffler on my '98 Civic. I love how it sounds and I got the axle-back, bolt on system with a tip for $193 shipped.

Obviously its more when bought directly from Flowmaster, but I'm sure you can find it for cheap somewhere.

i went to my local honda performance shop bought a NRG exhaust muffler for 80 dollars. went to my local mexican muffler dude. and installed 2.25" piping from the cat back, put the muffler on. 100 dollars for that. so for 80 dollars more almost you can have a cat back system. call all your local muffler shops, and see who will give you the best deal.
not a muffler, but same situation. ebay exhaust tip for 5.99. looked great and shinney. threw it on. rained that night. the next morning the rust was starting. put it on in febuary, it feel off last month... do not go ebay...
Oh come on now...Guys we all know there's good & bad sellers on Ebay no matter what is being sold. You just have to be smart & check out their Feedbacks..and I don't mean just their percentage, but READ the actually feedbacks. Look for any NEGATIVE comments about the part(For any car maker) that you're looking into getting. If you wanna go EVEN FURTHER use your "find" feature on page after page of feedbacks to look for customers that brought the SAME EXACT part from the seller, THEN sent the buyer a message asking how good is the part & did it last as expected.
Everything above is EXACT what I did when I brought a header for like $30(No..it's not made of cardboard or plastic).
3 months later my header is still as good as I brought it(except for the rainbow color, but I don't care about that).
Just be smart when shopping on ebay....Do your research so you won't have to worry about "if this part is any good".
