Default exhaust rasp noise

my exhaust is a 4-2-1 megan header down to a 2.25" magnaflow catback w/ a test pipe on it. when i drive and hit 2.5-3.2k rpms about it makes a RLY bad raspy noise and does this also when i get on the throttle. i have heard this is because i have no cat on, if thats the case i have been looking at some magnaflow high flow cats, if thats not the problem do i just need to take my entire exhaust off and reseal it?

yeah, no cat=illegal and doesn't really give you any more gains than a high flow cat.

I think the magnaflow exhausts do sound raspy on civics, if I remember correctly. Just go on youtube and find what you like

Yea, get a Magnaflow high-flow cat.

It's a Magnaflow 22628

The test pipe will give you a raspy sound, as will an exhaust leak. Check the welds.

ditto on the test pipe, thats your problem. Magnaflow exhausts dont sound raspy at all so I dont think thats the source. You should have a cat on regardless of your emission regulations, unless the car is strictly for track use only.
