You will be fine and the car will run fine. I would recommend an AEM cold air setup but make sure to get a bypas valve or what ever the water valve is called but the ones from ebay will work just fine there really isnt a difference other than name and filters that are attached i would recomend getting a K&N filter instead of using there ****ty ones but your on a budget do what ever works. I wouldnt recommend a short ram intake though. Good luck.
