So i just got headers and high performance catalytic converter from megan racing installed on my car and larger tubbing but i notice my exhaust tip sounds like a weed wacker, i got the tip about 2 years ago when i first got the car and it had a slightly little sputter noise to it but now its noticable , i purchased the tip at checker it probably wasnt the best but i dont know if its the tip or something else. if someone could give me a good solid answer or idea it would be much appreciated.

 

if it IS the tip, take it off; either that, or screw it tighter.

 

get another tip. N1, or something like that. should make is sound deeper. i hate the tinny sound too, my boy has a SI and it sounds like a bunch of pissed off bees in a can.
you could try and go on ebay and find a reputable brand for less.

 

The weedwacker noise starts at about 3000 rpm and then levels out and at low rpm its that deep low roar i wana achieve at every rpm.

 

are we talking about a tip or a muffler?

 

yeah i was gonna post a question about whats the difference between muffler, exhaust tip and exhaust pipe but i think its a muffler from what i know tips are for apperance. but whatever it is its got little holes all the way around on the inside kinda like a carbon collector type thing i noticed the weird noise when i first got it on when friends when take it and i would listen to them drive off but now that i got Megan Racing Headres, High Flow Resonator/Cat and custom exhaust tubbing i can really hear it.
(its welded on) its just a cheap autozone/checker auto type that comes in a box
