Default which exhaust tip size?

ok so i know if you want to go turbo it is a good idea to get a 3' tip, and if your not going turbo then around 2.5' is good....so if i plan on going turbo, do i have to get a 3' tip and just wait until i get the turbo, becuase i know it isnt good to get a 3 i nch tip without some kind of forced induction, correct me if im wrong

while you're waiting, 3" piping is ENORMOUS. you'll notice ENORMOUS loss in lower end torque. for turbo, 3" is also too big - esp. on a civic. probably 2.5 would be adequate

oh ok, i thought 3inch was standard for turbos, and i knew i would have enormous loss if i got the 3 inch, while i waited to go turbo...i didnt know i could just go with 2.5 thanks

an exhaust's tip size shouldn't be considered when talking about power. the size is only on the muffler, thus it's only looks.

yea i thnk your talking about piping man. a N/A civic at hte most should have 2.25" piping, but if your boost 2.25" or 2.75" would be good. 3" is massive. As for the muffler, most mufflers have a 2.5" inlet and hten a 4" outlet. Thatd prolly be good. And remember to get name brand too.
