Is Exhaust Worth It?
by its self exhaust is most likely notworth it. combined with a good headerand the right intake, youl definitly feel a difference. my 02 pulls SO much harder with intake header exhaust i just love it haha and for everything, if you find good deals, you'll get it all for under a grand. i/h/e FTW
heres what my BEFORE-fart can and AFTER twin loop muffler. sounds great to me... TONS BETER than the fart can, not the best of course but a nice sound IMO.... just about the same cost as a OEM muffler. maybe 10bucks more for it...

very nice. yea i've got a Greddy EVO2 Catback, and a high flow cat on my GSR in my del Sol and it's VERY quite from idle - about 5k then after that it sounds not so much ricey but strong!

I got it! Say you have a really hot chick in the car, but you have to rip some ***... well punch the accelerator a little and you have the perfect coverup for whatever you unleash into your seat[:'(]

Another thing to consider is the superior corrosion resistance of most quality cat-back systems which are generally all-stainless steel. Most custom bent piping is just steel or aluminized steel, both being very susceptable to rusting in areas where the streets are slated or sanded. Yes, just buying a $120 muffler and having some piping bent will be less expensive than say, a Magnaflow system, but hey, you get what you pay for!

dual exhausts on a civic looks bad however way you look at it. on an s2k, it's okay. not on a civic. and if 90% of the hondas you see sound bad, then you must live in riceville. might as well join the crowd... also, i can't emphasize enough, how retarded it is for people to compare a bad sounding muffler to a fart. bad muffler's don't sound like farts; they just sound bad because they're raspy. if i knew who first coined that term, i'd kick them in the face...
wow... just wow...

I was gonna say looks and cost play a factor as well, but I was getting the evil eye from an instructor so I had end the post early. I think dual exhaust, when done right, look slick. If it sounds good that's even better. Although in all honesty 90% of the Honda's I see on the road (with modded exhausts) sound like some variation of a painful high pressure fart.

hey, how did I miss the dual exhaust part of this conversation? Speaking from experience, a dual exhaust system (when done well) actually sounds better/quieter than a single exhaust (with the same muffler). My exhaust got a good bit louder when I switched back to a single exhaust.
