a high-flow cat doesnt really make you lose power and the sound will probably be raspier and you exhaust will smell worse. It's a good idea man...

you say you have a downpipe...which would mean you're already boosted? If by downpipe you mean header, the cat usually isnt in the header/exhaust manifold (unless its a y7), the cat is usually bolted up to the header under the car.

I dont have emissions testing in my state (michigan) but i want my exhaust quieter and the fumes coming out not to be white and smelling worse than they already do
a high flow cat is more restrictive than no cat at all. a catless downpipe will net you a couple more ponies than one with a high flow cat, even if its marginal, and its an unneeded expense.... see i am doing this build, b/c i blew the **** up LOL, not b/c i was ready, so im cutting costs where i can.

and yes i have a ceramic coated header from ZZP, and a 3" catless downpipe. and yes i am boosted.... and what is a y7? i think you are under the impression i am building a honda... but its a saturn. the origional post was about finding parts for my buddy who just picked up an 07 ex coupe, and then i guess we got off topic ans started talking about my build instead
