How much difference is gutting your cat really gonna make? is it worth it because i had a vtec civic and my check engine light would always come on which stopped the vtec. so i got a O2 sensor but those don't last very long. a little help plz

you're better off buying a performance cat.

well if your o2 sensors arent lasting long then there is something else wrong. Gutting your cat will only add to the problem... not to mention its illegal, sounds horribly loud and will show minor power gains. Like NTX said. If you have yoru heat set on increasign the flow of your cat then go with a hi-flow cat. Magnaflow makes one and its pretty good. If you dont already have a full exhaust done then gutting the cat will show NO power gains what so ever. To see anything from a cat you will need bigger piping and a performance muffler, possibly even a header.
