HCF Challenge Update. Cat-back
Ok, I posted yesterday about getting the Thundermuff on there. Now as it pertains to the Challenge.
Cost- $142.50 delivered to the door.
G-Tech says:
Baseline (stock)- 16.99 sec @ 85.3 mph---- 104 whp
With Cat-back- 16.69 sec @ 87.4 mph----- 114 whp
Wow! 0.3 seconds and 2.1 mph in the 1/4 with a gain of 10 whp. The Hp sounded a little generous but I ran it 3 times and had the same weight entered for both stock and w/cat-back. I am impressed.
$857.50 left to shave 1.69 seconds.

RE: HCF Challenge Update. Cat-back
Oh, I'm definitely gonna start lightening it after everything is on. I remember what you said about the stuff under the carpet and I am gonna use "Weight Reduction 101 by se7ensectoolate." But I want to see how low I can get it without ripping seats and carpet out. I'm gonna strip it at the end to do a weekend at the track just to see. I get the feeling that not a lot of people believe I can do it.
Actually I went to the track for the first time last night and I was encouraged. There was only one import; an Integra that ran like 17.30, which I am faster than that now, and 4 or 5 Mustangs that were all in the mid 15's. I'm still shooting for 15 flat but it's nice to know that not everybody is as fast as the day they came off the factory line and were run with professional drivers. Speaking of the track... this Suburban looked and sounded stock. Factory 15" wheels, exhaust, everything. It did a burnout and was friggin gone. Look at the ET on the window.
