Default Headers & check engine light question??

I have a 2000 Civic w/ 1.6L engine, installed new Aerospeed headers and check engine light is one. I have an O2 Sensor Simulator & Heater Sensor Simulator from www.02simulator.com. My mechanic removed the secondary O2 sensor, installed O2 sim and light still on. Code says P0141 heater sensor.
Is there a way to "trick" the ECM with the O2 sim without having the secondary O2 sensor hooked up, or do I need to re-install the secondary O2 sensor??

That is the right spot for the sensor... however I have a question for you. Is the sensor cut and spliced in? Basically, did the mech cut the OEM o2 sensor wire to splice in the simulator?

The first O2 sensor is attached to the headers (front of car), and the O2 simulator is spliced in, so O2 sensor is not removed.
The secondary O2 sensor has been completely removed.

No, the simulator is spliced into the first O2 sensor which is still on the car. There's nothing connected to where the secondary O2 sensor was.

the simulator needs to be on the 2nd sensor. It cannot be cut and then spliced with the simulator. You need to shave the wire then attach it
