Hedman tork step?
i live in labrador, so i don't think they care. if you live in california it has to have a 50 state legal CARB rating. otherwise it's 49 or 48 state legal. or just plain racing or off road
I to have a Hedmen Chikara header and the install was just fine.. one suggestion, have yourself a little time to deal with the o2 sensor extension... that was the hardest part for me, well cause i'm **** and soldered them... then shrink tubed them.. then routed them different than stock to keep them outta the way... i got a noticable power gain with mine.. and as for legal??? beats the hell outta me.. im in southern texas, i really dont care.. i dont have to deal with emmisions out in the country where i live and get my car inspected.. now if i were in austin where they just started doing emmisions.. maby.. i seriously doubt that a cop would know the diff.. the only time anyone might even know you've done anything at all is when you get it inspected...cause round here they pop the hood and look for serious oil leaks... stuff like that..
oh, and as for that painted finish that they come with, yea take a picture before you put it together, cause thats the last time it'll ever look like that...
the one problem that i did have with mine, where the down pipe meats the flange flex connector thingy at the cat... the center tube part stuck out too far for the old do-nut seal to work.. so it was either get a new do-nut or cut that tube down just a little.. my die grinder was closer than the parts store...
just my .002 worth.. now that i have a powder coating system, i'm thinking about pulling mine off, and getting some high temp powder and putting a nicer finish on it...

Thanks for the advice, I just got mine shipped in today, cant wait to bolt them up once it thaws out a bit. damn winter!
Oh yeah, one question: did anyone skip the O2 sensor wire mod and just get an 02 simulator? just wondering.

sorry, for the long time to reply, but i had some living situation/money problems, but i'm fine now. my headers dont have an 02 bung in them and my cat was originally in the exhaust manifold itself, so i'm not sure how this is going to turn out. will an 02 simulator work fine? am i going to have AFR issues? any reply would be excellent
What I've recommend is doing a full ex (Si in Canada) exhaust conversion (if you have the money). What you do is get a cat and exhaust (since you already have the header) for an Si (or ex) and install it on your car. It should bolt right up. and about the o2 sensor: what I'd recomend doing is having a bung welded on by an exhaust shop. But a simulator should take care of everything. I think Flip has one... maybe PM him and see what he has to say on the issue?
Could i just stick a high flow cat at the end of my mid-pipe, wire in some O2 simulators and hope for the best upon inspection? I need the vehicle to pass an inspection so I can get it registered in my name.
Well that depends on your local inspection stations and emissions testing/laws... if they're strict and you have actual emissions testing, you might be screwed. If it's a purely visual inspection, you'll probably be fine.
