help w/ idle
i hope this is the right place for this post...but my friend is being really anoying and since his PC brown down he askmed me to ask u guys since i told him about this site...he has a 02 civic EX (like mine) stick shift...and he has this r-active SRI and DC Headers and straight piping exhaust on his D17a2....now his car is wierd when it idles...its like ...vrooom.vroom.vroom.vroom quickly one after another vroom...like vroomvroomvroomvroom...does the civic think its a muscle car?...and it stops for a split second when he turns the wheel in a different direction then it continue...he had his intake for a while now..like 13 months alone w/ his headers...he baught the car that had the straight piping...now were wondering how to get the idle to be a constant flow in idling...like vrooooooooommmmm u kno..not vroomvroom like it is...i suck at explaining i know...but how can i make it stop idling bad?...we tried holding the rev at 3k for a while till the car got warm so it can relearn its idle but it didnt work...any advice plz?

Sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve..? Possibly. I mean.. Somethings obviously kinda wrong, maybe his car needs a cleaning with some Seafoam? That **** works wonders, let me tell you. When I dosed my car with it, it lowered my idle about 100~200 rpm. It idles at like 500/600 rpm now. Seafoam goes into your crankcase, throttle body, and gas tank. It cleans everything out(That nasty gunk build-up) and really helps your car.
It could possibly need that, I mean.. There can be alot of reasons his car is idle-ing wierd.
