Default Hiflow Cats

I just got back from a long trip and not even 20 miles from my house on the trip back the CEL pops on the only code in it was P0420 and from what I have gathered from talking to many diff ppl who are mechanics, they all told me the same thing with out talking to one another, "Your cat is F'd and you need a new one" so with that taken care of is there any good suggestions for a direct fit Hiflow I dont have the time during the day to take my car to a shop and have it welded on bc its my DD and I work in a Diesel shop that wont allow me to have one of the guys do it for me. So the ? is other than the Pace Setter I found is there and other good ones in the 150 to 200 dollar range

Ok I got the P0420 back and I was looking at cats a little closer and the Pace Setter Hiflow is a 2 way and the MagnaFlow OEM is a 3 way cat. Which brings me to this if I put a 2 way cat on I still not legal just as if I put a testpipe on right?

Not really sure about the legality of the catalytic converters based on being 3-way or 2-way. But, I can tell you that i've owned the Magnaflow direct-fit catalytic converter and it's a nice product. I recommend it.

Thanks for the reply I talked to a friend of mine from school that lives in Texas and a state inspector and he said that EPA require that if it came with a 3 way cat than they have to be replaced with a 3 way you cant go down to a 2 way

You will need a cat that is speced for your car. Since you are pulling a code PO420 then you must be OBD2, you will need a 3 way cat that is for an OBD2 car. MagnaFlow cats are good, they make a direct fit for almost every car. We use them all the time at my shop.
