it wasnt hydrolock. if it was because of the water getting in the engine you would have broken something and it wouldntve started back up. check your plugs and wires and make sure theres not a break or a fray anywhere. water could cause that to short out and kill the engine.

Short ram vs CAI dont really matter. Your talking a max gain of around 3hp for a CAI. I had a AEM CAI on my 98 sedan with a Y7, then I went to a short ram and yes -40- my short ram was alot louder. I liked it better to tell the truth.

...I think Sacs is right on what happened. It used to happen to my Jetta every time it was raining outside. The Distributer (or coil pack in the jetta) gets wet, shorts out, and down goes the motor. It's HIGHLY unlikely that you got just enough water into the motor to shut it down, but not kill it
