I do wipe it off some times, but even if i didnt it will be fine ( which some times i dont because it say's for best performenc dont wipe it off), . My muffler dosnt get hot to burn it off,if it did it would be fine... Ill still spray it down.

your pipes might not feel hot but really... have you ever touched your muffler case or exaust pipe after youve been driving for 1/2hour? its pretty warm. you can do what you want with WD40 but take it or leave it... its not gonna extend the life of your pipes hardly any if any at all!
remember pipes have 2 sides of steel. inside and outside. moisture inside the pipes can rust out the pipes from the inside out just as easy as outside in.....
if ya dont believe me then take off your exaust pipe off the front and run a garden hose water thru the pipes and watch all the brown rust colored water come out the other end

your best bet for LONGEST LIFE would be stainless steel and a nice brand so the quality in the stainless steel is there not just one of those RIP OFF EBAY pipes...
spend the good money on a set of pipes one time and it should outlast the car as long as its not damaged.

Just a followup for anyone searching, I found that the hole in the system was isolated to the muffler section. So ordered up a new Honda muffler and a bunch of the hardware online at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. Sprayed the B-pipe to Muffler bolts with PB blaster and let it sit the night, then unbolted the old and put the new section in. No cutting, welding or anything drastic required. The rubber mounts came off easily with a squirt of WD-40. Actually, the most difficult part was putting the new donut gasket on the end of the existing B-pipe. If there was some sort of trick to doing this, I didn't know it. Even got a new Honad end finisher piece that bolted right to the end pipe. I think it looks nicer than a fart can.

Hopefully that section lasts as long as the original! For $140 including shipping, it wasn't a bad deal at all.
