Default intake question?

A buddy of mine not to long ago got a power package from DH racing. It was the intake manifold and lighten crank pulley. He also has a Venom control module. This is for D series engine. Anyway, his car hauls ***! I was amazed. Now my question is, this is california and even though it looks stock. And you really cant see the crank pulley. Is this car going to pass smog. Because this would be a problem for me. If that is I would go this route.

Really I would also like hear some feed back on porting and polishing, it really sounds too good to be true

Port and polish will make a huge difference... but its more of a major step in my opinion as opposed to an everyday tuners upgrade. If you can afford it and trust the person doing it then its great!

The crank pulley should not affect smog. I've had other pulleys changed and never had a problem.....yet.....

Yea, I agree with you. Port & polishing on a natural aspirated engine will make a lot of difference especially if you add an aftermarket camshaft.

most afermarket intake manifolds are not smog legal. check into it before you pick one out. the pulley shouldnt give you a problem though. also, what kind of car and motor do you have? any mods?
