Default Intake questions

The intake is the next thing on my list to do to my car. I just put a custom exhaust on it about a week ago and now want to get an intake. What is generally the best brand to go with? I am really interested in the AEM V2 intake and want something that will give me the most power and torque possible. Also will installing the cold air intake replace that huge filter box that takes up half the engine? and is it pretty easy to install? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

the V2 is prolly ur best bet for power. when u install any intake, u'll have to take out the filter box, resonator box and everything out from the stock intake. except for the SRI but thatd look pretty stupid if u left the resonator box in there...intakes are pretty simple to install and i think if anyone buys one they should do it themselfs. just a few small bolts here and there and ur done.

So if you get alot of rain around where you live the cold air intake is not the thing to go with? Not really worried too much about it cause it doesnt rain all that much but it does still rain.
