Just wondering... WHP with I/H/E on a y8?
Short of going and running my car on a dyno, I was just wondering if anyone could make an educated guess as to how much WHP I would have after having finished my I/H/E. I have a '96 Si with a '00 d16y8. I/H/E isn't anything spectacular, but I have:
- Bomz CAI with a K&N
- DC Sport ceramic header
- 2.25" in/out Magnaflow HF Cat
- 2.5" mandrel exhaust with straight through muffler
Wires are NGK OEM and plugs are NGK platinum.
I know stock I get about 127 hp at the crank, so I guess that would be maybe about 100-107 whp.
Any ideas?
Also, these are pretty basic mods, so I don't imagine that I need to run a higher octane than regular 87... right?
THANKS[/align]

RE: Just wondering... WHP with I/H/E on a y8?
stock it's prolly more like 90 whp at 5800 rpms
With those upgrades it will prolly be around 100 whp at 5800-6000 rpms
I personally think that it's a waste of money to get higher grade gas with those mods. You can if youwant to,you might notice a little difference. But not worth the extra money in my opinion, unless your engine is pinging and/or knocking.
