Default K&N Filter question

I'm new to the forum and just got an 03 lx.

Has anyone here tried the drop-in K&N air filter for civics (not the CAI asssembly)? Does this really help you get additional HP? Thanks.

I had one before I got my V2 and honestly I didn't really feel any difference between stock and K&N

yes, they do give you hp gains over stock. not ginormous gains, but gains nonetheless. usually around 3 - 10 hp area to the wheels.

it varies depending on the setup and model of car, but dyno runs all over the internet and in print show slight gains throughout the RPM range of the motors tested.
