looking for stock sounding exhaust system
my 98 civic dx has rust holes in the exhaust. im looking for a stock sounding exhaust or not too much louder than stock. i would like catback 2" pipe stainless steel, stock style muffler with 2" tip. any companys make something like this? ive looked all over and all the ones ive seen were fart cannon with 4" tip. i have read thru the stickys and some posts but didnt help much. im not looking to go fast in this car. any help? thanks
How much of the exhuast is rusted? Just the muffler, or the piping too? It just the muffer you can have a shop weld a new one one.
RS*R Exmag is pretty quiet, as is the magnaflow, but any aftermarket exhuast is going to sound louder then stock. If you want the stock sound, have a shop bend you some 2 in piping with a new muffler and resonator.

i got it temporarily fixed. its rusted bad from the cat to just passed the resonator. i had to cut it and patch in a piece of pipe. ill probably look into the apexi this spring cause its rigged now with 2 pieces of pipe that i cut in.
also i took it into an exhaust shop and they said that the resonator is needed to pass emissions? is this true? i thought it was just there to silence the exhaust.
my stock resonator rusted and broke so i put a piece of pipe there instead.

i just installed the Apex-i World Sports 2 catback exhaust and I love it. Not too much louder than stock, but sounds a little louder when accelerating hard. Also looks great - no coffee can. Has a nice deep quiet tone also.
