Thanks. I was more just saying I have too loud of an exhaust rather than seeking help. It's pretty much just straight 3" pipe the whole way. But this will be remedied in a week when the turbo is installed. woot.

Please put the cat back on. It was installed on your car for a reason.

I feel the rage building.

What's with the animosity towards CAT deletes around here? Like the world can't handle a few more carbs from 1 modded low emission civic. And when the turbo kit goes on next weekend, I can't put it back on. I may put a high flow cat under the car afterwards. But I'm not messsing with it until after the turbo is on.

Also, the same argument can be made for most things. Your stock exhaust is there fore a reason, but people change them. In fact we should just all not mod anything.

if every person used that same logic then we would have a big problem with emissions (bigger than we already have)

think about it like the voting thing. a bunch of people say that they're just 1 vote and their vote doesn't matter. well when a bunch of people think that and don't vote because they don't think they can make a difference, it does make a difference.

point being, everyone needs to do their part.

well, I understand that, but the fact of the matter is, I can't put the CAT on with the turbo. And I want to turbo. So I'm going to have to go without a CAT for awhile. Like I said, I may put a high flow cat on underneath, but that will be after the turbo is on.

I was just doing some legal research on the subject. I do not have to conform to the emission standards. The county I live in currently, is not required to follow and past emission tests. Only parts of Illinois are required too.(Those closer to chicago) So when I move back to Chicago. I will have to take care of the CAT problem, but for now I am ok.

Illegal? Maybe not (though it should be)
Irresponsible? Certainly
Immoral? Definitely

The "animosity" comes from the fact that our planet is already screwed enough as it is without people making CONSCIOUS decisions to increase their carbon footprint.

Oh well, I guess future generations don't need trees or drinking water, right? This is North America after all - you don't need breathable air when you're dead so why worry about what happens in the future...

...right?

high-flow cat if you wanna spend the extra money for the slight gains, but at the least the biggest resonator you can find. They can be found cheap on eBay, almost any length and inlet/outlet diameter. I saw on your other thread that you just bought your turbo kit, i think if you install the cat/res and just deal with the no torque until the kit is installed, you'll be happy oyur exhaust is that free flowing once you're boosted.

Thanks for the moral lesson. Although slight polution is not what I consider immoral. And if you're going to get all high and mighty...I hope you have installed low flow showers and toilets in your house. And only use recycled toilet paper, and only using cage free chicken eggs. And seriously, why don't you guys just get rid of your cars and bike. I bike to work. Get off my back about the CAT. I'm sorry I'm not as righteous as you when it comes to saving the planet by leaving my CAT on which really isn't possible when putting a turbo on.

That probably didn't make any sense, but I'm just annoyed with the recent anti-cat delete comments. I just think you choose your battles. Like I am all for not drinking bottled water. Why ship water in a container over the ocean, when I can just get it out of the tap. Do you guys drink bottled water? But using or not using a CAT is not a battle a choose to fight right now. Shoot, in my lifetime it could be possible I won't be able to use a combustion engine. Might as well use it and enjoy it while I can.
