Hey guys just bought a 95 civic dx 4dr 130k. It is real slow right now and i really need more speed, it seems to get up real slow when switching gears (automatic) it takes a while and there is a pause and a rough shift. Whats your ideas on intakes and mufflers also?

How narly do you want to go, and how much money do you want to spend, and how good are you at fiddling with cars? On an automatic, you're going to be stomping the pedal constantly for power, cause most hondas' not just vtec engines power, is above 3500-4000 rpms. Intake, headers, exhaust, they'll give you better throttle response so it'll be more fun to drive, but you won't actually be accelerating a whole lot faster (though it will be a faster). If you have the money, and if you know how to do it, rebuild the engine and turbocharge it. google engine rebuils for your particular engine, every engine has different weak points. For most people i think, I/E/H is enough, and retail all of that should run you no more than 1000.
