I just like the idea of buying a proven catback system that I can install myself. I really don't know what to expect from this Silverline muffler with a removable resonator with 2 screws??? Kind of Ugly IMO. I like the Magnaflow catback, also the Apex'i world sport, and a couple others, the problem is MANY for the 07 Si Coupe, BUT nothing for the 2.0 sedan???

 

i'm sorry, but i don't understand why you're so stuck on buying a exhaust for more money than if you went custom. go to a REPUTABLE shop--your friends can tell you/ask around--and they'll set up an exhaust for you the EXACT SAME WAY a pre-assembled one would be had you ordered it from magnaflow. you don't have to worry about it looking crappy because you can stand there and watch them do the whole thing. if you don't like it, simply tell them, and i'm willing to bet they'll do it as you want it.

if after all this, you're still wanting to get a more expensive, prebuilt, cat-back exhaust, go ahead and get the one for the coupe, and take it to an exhaust shop and they'll fit it on for like $50... which jacks up the price AGAIN...

 

sounds like an ok deal to me... as for deleting one of the resonators its only to save them money. They really dont hinder power at all, they just muffle the sound. Size really doenst matter as long as the inlet and outlet are the right size to match the piping.

Also, a catback system leaves teh stock piping from teh catylitic converter to the header at stock diameter. For a true gain you need the larger piping from teh header back.

 

Does the header void warranty?

 

if the header is the cause of the problem then you will not be covered under warranty. But if your brakelights stop working or something like that then you are safe

Would it be stupid to get a header and a catback exhaust and use the stock cat? Or should a low restriction high perm cat be purchased also. Is the 07 Si cat a low restriction unit?

 

no, stock trim does not come with a hi-flow cat.
