Default Noob intake question

Can the AEM SRI be used on an automatic 97 civic lx sedan? everywhere i read it says manuel only , manuel only, everywhere! and also i see a lot about how tuning an automatic is stupid, im not looking to be the next Brian Spilmer or anything, i just want a fast aggressive sounding car with what i have. Does anyone have a link to an AEM or iNjen SRI intake that will work on my car??

manual, auto, doesnt matter it would still work. most importantly thing is to get them for the right model. get one that works with your LX so anything that is HX EX would not work, although i think one from a DX might work. and adding a short ram to a auto or manual civic would not produce any noticeable performance gain. aggressive sounding probably yes.

and this one should work

right the f*ck on brother. you answering all my questions and helped greatly. Will CAI be the only option to feel greater performance on my auto?

You're not going to feel performance gains with SRI or CAI, especially with an automatic. There will be gains, but they will be extremely minimal and you will not be able to feel the difference. You will probably think it feels faster though, which is typical.

for your car, i would not get a Cold air or short ram base on performance gains, but of course a cold air would be a bit better than a short ram. Instead get it if you like the look of them and the air sucking sound.

I did I/H/E on an automatic Civic and the only reasons I don't regret it are:

1. It came with a fart can, so the new exhaust was of course much better sounding and less annoying.
2. All the parts directly swapped over to my manual del Sol when I bought it (except the exhaust, which I had trimmed to fit)
