a full h22 swap is like $2250 +S&H at www.hmotorsonline.com, but there's always going to be odds and ends you'll need to pay for, so I'd guess maybe $3k-ish all said and done for the swap if you do it yourself. I'd definitely recommend going through HMO, though.. The only negative I've ever heard about them is their prices, but I've looked around and their prices seem to be average.

And My04 is right.. you can piece together a turbo kit for $1500-ish, depending on where you get your parts and what deals you can find.

I'd definitely start researching both engine swaps and turbo systems as soon as possible. That way, you can get a good idea of what you'll be dealing with and you'll know what problems you might have before you have them.

I have the Hedman Chikara header and if you have a D16Y7 or the catalytic convertor in the exhaust manifold itself, you will have to convert a lot over to an EX exhaust with the after manifold cat and all that. which i wish i had researched before i started my header install, but now most of it is sorted out and all that. For the price i recommend the Hedman which i am very happy about. it lets me cut in and out of traffic quite well here in the city and with a nicely matched exhaust system it will give a good seat of the pants boost and get the tires schreeching in agony.

I checked out that HMO site. what does "Motors average 35,000 miles".... i think it means they have that much on them right? not how long they'll last[:'(].

you're right... that's how many miles they have on the odometer. In Japan, most people use mass transit, so when their cars go to the junkyard, they have very few miles on them.

and 97... the only downside I've really heard of with the H2B swap is I believe you have to do that hood popping thing where the back of your hood (by the winsheild) is raised up an inch or so. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you have to, anyway. But 200hp + short-ish gears = ear-to-ear grins

lol thanx for clearing that one up....yea ive heard that this swap is alil more difficult to handle but i can handle a few extra hours of labor to set up what seems to fit my need....o it wont stop there u gotta add the turbo kit addition shortly after the swap.....then its[sm=happybounce.gif]

also...the h22 is there a difference between that and the h22a? sorry if a dumb question also is there a certain model prelude only this engine is in? just wondering cause i am going to put forth a small amount of effort to try to get lucky in coming across one in my area

It's the same engine, different generation.

Honda engine codes:
H22A
H = Engine series
22 = Displacement (22 = 2.2l)
A = Generation (later generations usually have a number after the letter. for example, H22A1, H22A4)

Oh, and this might help.
