Default straight to cat

When i first got my new exhaust, i put the test pipe in insted of putting the cat in and everything was nice and dandy, but i decided to put my cat in just a couple days ago and now for some reason, my car seems to be a lot quicker now. anyone know y that might be? i think it might have something to do with backpressure but im not really sure.

what would backpressure do? if anything the added cat would add backpressure and decrece your power.
