Default Used Aem air intake filter cleaning

I just picked up a used Aem cold air intake with a dry flow air fliter today. I wondering if anyone can tell me the easiest way to clean the filter without buying their kit.

spray it with a hose lol, whatever you do, let it dry before you put it back on your car. advanced auto parts sells a solution to clean the filter too.

just do like the aem cleaning instructions tell you with alittle soap and water in a bucket twice and rinse... i wouldnt spray it with a hose from the outside, but from the inside the best you can, just so you dont push any dirt thru the filter. then when your done hold the filter up and shove the hose from the bottom so all the water shoots right back down from inside the filter to make sure no dirt is on the inside. and let dry overnight.
i never cleaned mine since it doesnt look to dirty and it wasnt on the car for very long. i guess i need to put it on ebay sometime im tired of it taking up space on my toolbox!
