Default whats a resonated test pipe?

I read on here that eBay high flow cats are just "resonated test pipes." I was wondering what that was, and how is it different than a test pipe?

Thank you.

I think people have a misconception about forums. Yes, they are here to provide information. Yes, they are here to provide a place to hang out during down times (off-topic sections). However, it is pointless to continually have the same questions asked over and over again when the information is already out there.

Would you have preferred members to not reply to your thread, or at least point you in the right direction for the information. I think I did the latter.

Ya, actually your absolutely right. It's just that I've been searching for a while, and I did Google it but still found nothing. That's when it gets frustrating. So this was actually one of my last resorts.

To answer your question... a simple test pipe is just a pipe. There is nothing in it, it is just a plain old pipe you put in place of your catalytic converter. A resonated test pipe is a little more than just a straight through pipe and it helps decrease noise level (key word, helps, they really don't decrease noise very much) without sacrificing power.

If you're looking to get either a test pipe or resonated test pipe, I'd say don't bother. You won't pass emissions (assuming you get tested) and it makes the car a whole lot louder and in most cases for a Civic, makes it even more like crap. Beside performance gains are minimal, if any, unless you are boosted or w/e.
