Where do I look for good headers?
Hey, I have 98 honda civic CX.. my motor is stock and i recently had the check light go on.. Its not the o2 sensors cos I just replaced those, but I found a crack in my headers. My friends tried to put on a temp bond so I could have it smogged, but it seems like the crack is in the middle of the weld. I need to find the headers and cat converter for it so I can just replace the whole thing and not have any more problems with it... Any advice? i'm in socal.. mostly OC area and LA area... lemme know!
Please and thank you,

Well the fact that you are in California make modding cars a pretty big pain in the ****.
So you really have to to 2 options.
1)get an oem replacement cat/header. since it is all one piece on the cx models. this would solve any issues you are having with the existing header.
2)replace the entire exhaust with a new header, cat (would be relocated to bottom on engine), and full exhaust that are all C.A.R.B. legal. On top of that I believe you have to register every part of any mods that you do to the car that affects emissions. I would check with local legislation for the exact details of CARB stuff.
and heres a link to more info about swapping out the entire exhaust.

okay, i need some help/advice/input/ANYTHING.
I got aftermarket headers/cat converter. replaced the old cracked unit and put the old sensor back in. Deleted the code (P0135) with the OBD2 computer.
BUT.. check engine light is still on.
My friend is saying that I need to get a brand new sensor because the one on right now is still used to the old headers/cat converter and that's why the check engine light keeps coming back on.
Anybody got any input???
Please and Thank you!

Go to advanced auto parts, autozone, etc, and see if they'll scan the code for you (they usually do it for free). If you can give us the code, it'll be easier to figure out what's going on.
If the old O2 sensor was dirty, or got damaged while transferring it to the new header, it could cause problems. Also, depending on what catalytic converter you bought, the cat itself could be the problem.

I would think so too, but the code is for O2SB1S1. It's the primary o2, which has nothing to do with the cat; all it does is report the a/f mixture to the pcm for fuel trim purposes. If it was O2SB1S2, I'd say it's the cat.
babycakes, from the sound of it, the o2 sensor got damaged while you were transferring it or the new o2 sensor you put in earlier had a faulty heater circuit.
