^ Finally someone has given me an answer! I actually had a dream about this last night... my SRI wasn't locked down or anything when I had it... it just floated there next to the engine... when I did my coast to coast I hit some wild rain through tennessee but it only affected the car going about 20-45 mph... going full blast I was pounding though everything.

As for the engine shake, it would make my car lose power but I have yet to have an engine light come on! If I was having distributor problems would it say? Is my distributor where the spark plugs are? Do i need better spark plugs?

Final question about bracing the intake... do you think it went crazy because it wasnt held down near the end? Could it have possibly been shaking when the water hit it and not the engine itself? And for a CAI would it be safe to have a bypass valve?

meh, bypass valves illiminates any power the cai may have added.

A problem with the distributor might not throw a CEL unless it completely bogs the motor down. Best advice I can give you, is the next time you get the same issue (shaking when rainy, wet, etc..), shut the car down, and pull off the distributor cap to see if theres any water inside.

Oh yeah, I'm not sure where the distributor is on a 7th gen, just follow the plug wires. Theres plugs at one end, and a distributor on the other

How does water get into it? And how do i clean it off? Just a terry cloth? I am not sure of what the distributors are and where they are... and how do i keep water from getting into the distributors?

just so you know...getting a bypass valve'd CAI is basically a $300 SRI because all the air comes in the valve and not the filter.

You . . . don't have one. Sorry. 7th gens have a distributor-less ignition.
