Default '95 Civic Speaker Grilles

I just put some 6.5" Rockford Fosgate R1653 speakers in, but the tweeter on the front speakers stick out too far and my stock speaker grill won't go on. I don't want to leave the speakers out in the open so is there anyway to fix this?

did you use an adapter? if so trimming it alittle would help fitting the grille cover on. and what grill cover are you using. the stock one for your car, or the one that came with your speakers?

and according to crutchfield.com these sppeakers do not fit our cars. it may say it because of the problem you are having. Maybe cut out a hole in the grille so the tweeter steaks out but your whole speaker isnt showing.

I didn't use an adapter and I'm using the stock grilles from the civic. I thought about the idea of cutting out a hole. I just need to find someone with a more steady hand than me. I would never get it right.

So far, this seems like my only option. When I bought the speakers I didn't really think about depth.

I also thought about taking out the plastic holder attached inside the hole and just adding a rubber ring around it. Don't know if that would still give me enough room.
