I figure if I clear em' it will gloss em' up a bit. I like the look of civickid98's tails. Hey willby why did you have to rebuild the motor in your 97'?

well when i bought it, it made a noise which me and my dad thought to be a valve tick. but it was a rod knock. So one day it siezed up, so we took it apart in the winter and found that all 4 of the rod bearings were broken, I had a bent rod, the crankshaft was messed up, and my block was messed up too. lol. None of this was done by me, I was a pretty moderate driver cause I didn't want to further damage the "valve tick". So yeah, me and my dad spent all winter putting together a new motor for my car.

cool. I had a 98' that had that exact same problem. my no1 and 2 rod bearings hot soo hot that they actually welded themselves to my crank and I had to pull the bottom end out of the car almost in one piece and like you had to rebuild from scratch. crank, pistons rods. haha sorry to get off topic. :-)

lol yeah my bearings look exactly the same.

And to contribute to the topic, I used VHT nightshade on my headlights as eyelids, it turned out pretty nice.

thats where I got mine. One can should be enough, I've done my tail lights and a friends and still have some left over. How many coats is your choice, and what you like. I did about 4, cause i didnt want it to be too dark. If you want it to be almost black, I'd say go with about 6-8 coats. I did 4 coats to get a super dark red color.

I had clear coat put on my tails as if it was a 3 stage paint without the primer. So it's legit. But you can go with the rattle can if you don't feel like having it done the right way. Either way let me know how it looks.

I'm not 100% but i'm pretty sure that they're just held in by like 3 10mm bolts under the carpet in the trunk. like I said i'm not exact on that. But yea I just bought some of that vht night shade a few days sgo from summit so im waiting for that to come in. I'll definatly post some pics. both with and without clear on the lenses just so everyone can use it for refrance.

Smile Black Lights

I say spend the money and buy new housings. I just swapped my 08's out for jdm black/clear with LED's. I'm quite happy with them. what do you guys think?

I know, it's not a good picture. Bad reflection and the car is a little dirty.
