Default Black wheels

Any of you guys have factory wheels that you got painted black on your car. I was looking at either powdercoating or painting mine and i wondered what your experience with this was. Does it hold up if you get them professionally painted. I figured you would have the most experience with this so please help me out.

i painted my HX rims myself. if you don't mind paying more, powder coat them. better quality and will last longer. if you dont mind redoing them every maybe 2 years then paint them yourself. i painted mines 2 about 2 years ago and the paint is just starting to chip. which rims are you thinking of painting? btw. if you decide to paint them yourself, i use duplicolor engine enamel paint.

Duplicolor makes wheel paint that hold up good. As long as you prep it right it will last pretty well. I painted my old wheels with it, sand, clean, bare metal primer, few coats of duplicolor wheel paint, 2 clear coats with duplicolor wheel clearcoat, and buffed them. Came out good.

+1 Go with the powder coat. Looks nice and is super resistant to scratches scuffs etc....

Powder coating costs way more. If your spending that much you might as well buy new wheels.

Powder coating at the shop down the road from me will do it for 35 bucks a wheel. You might find similar pricing near you if you try shopping around a bit.
