Default brighter taillights

Okay, so for the 5th time this week ive gotten pulled over for my tail lights being "out", however i know they are on, its just not bright enough, i went a little heavy with the Nightshades tint. right now i have superbrightleds" 1157WLX5 red bulbs in the tails which produce 132 Lumens and a 220 degree visible spread area. but they just came out with a new bulb 1157W3XLW which produces 165 lumens in a 90 degree visible area. anyone use these new bulbs. i was planning on purchasing the white bulbs since my tails have red reflectors anyways. also will it make that much or a difference?
