Default cf trunk

well, i was thinking about getting a cf trunk for my 00 civic si but i was wondering how hard it is to install and if there are any issues. i would be getting a vis trunk. oem style NOT the shaved one. i mean will my trunk pop lever still work and all that?

if it's OEM, it should work just like the original.

+1^ Shaved ones just look like poo, in my humble oppy. Plus, the cops are already on me for not having a front license plate, last thing I need is a "missing" rear too.

But hey, I got my VIS in today, I'll do a quick DIY tomorrow sometime!

Damn, sorry its been so long, weather has been putting a damper on my work. Here's the whole deal with the trunk. Unlike a CF hood, you'll have to do a lot of swapping from the old to the new trunk. This includes the wiring (obviously), the license plate lights, the taillights, the latch mechanism, and (if you want it) the exterior key hole (you'll have to drill the trunk). One thing that was a little different from the old to the new was the license plate lights. You have to remove the entire license assembly from the trunk before you'll find the premade holes to install the lights. Also, the holes are a little big, so you'll have to get some new bolts to replace the old screws. Another thing, you'll need to make a hole in the under-skeleton of the trunk in order to route your wiring. The skeleton is an exact mold of the stock trunk skeleton, so you can put the hole in the same place. Thats about it, if I can get the weather to cooperate, I'll post some pics to try to clarify some of this.

Yeah, and this is definitely not an off-season project (unless you've got a nice, big, heated garage to work in). I about froze my damn fingers off working on this thing! So, maybe I'll hear from you next Spring...

Oh, and one more thing, it looks amazing!
