i bought my 98 civic from this guy awhile ago and my cluster instead of being stock black its white....not the part that the needles sit in but the surrounding is all white. its like they took the stock custer shell and replaced it with an all white one. anyways can you buy just a diff case to put your cluster in? my gas gauge and rpms and spedometer are all stock civic just the case is all white...I HATE IT how can i fix it? could i paint it if so how hard would it be? would it look crappy??? could they have possibly done something with my miles like roll back?

 

It might just be a plastic cover. You would need to remove the whole tach and then remove that plastic piece. DO NOT REMOVE NEEDLES

 

whats actualy painted white now? the cluster itself? or the inside surrounding bezel that goes around the 3 inside gauges? or just the outter trim cover that goes infront of the clear bezel?
if its the inner bezel that goes around the gauges i have a extra one siting on my shelf. NO ABS, with cruise control for 96-00. it sthe part where you have to pull the clear case off the cluster. i just used my spare one today because i needed one that had ABS lense on it. my new cluster didnt have AC but luckely my old one i busted up and such luckely i kept that bezel and clear lense from it.

 

the inside surrounding bezel that goes around the 3 inside gauges you cn tell it wasnt painted. it looks like a case that goes around all the gauges in the front and back...also all the sides bottom and top and in the back are all white but the gauges itself are oem black with white needles

Yes a picture would help alot! I'm thinking it's just the outline and its painted white he could probably just repaint it?

 

I would get a pic of it but how do i get a pic on here....i could use my cell phone (really good camera) and email it to my email what would i do after that...sorry not to smart with this picture stuff...id like to get pics of my car on here but not sure how
