well remember this... for a quick paint job.... its quite easy..... BUT if ya plan on showing... its gonna look like crap!!!!!! and you know it!

not cause your paint sucks BUT to do a good paint job ya gotta paint the WHOLE CAR! all door jams, inside trunks, inside engine bay.... now thats some serirous work!!!!!!!! to take apart the whole car practicaly... tape up all the jams or gutt the interior out remove all the windows and seals....

so if ya plan on painting it different alot..... then its never gonna be show worthy.... and then after ya have so much paint layered on the car youll have to sand all of it off......
and also remember paint isnt just paint cost.... ya got cleaners, sandpaper, sanding blocks all sizes and shapes, any primer needed for any repair spots that maybe needed, THEN its paint, and then clear coat, then after its good and dry more sandpaper and rubbing compound to get most the little imperfections in the paint out.... and also the paint gun! DONT GO CHEAP ON THE PAINT GUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOULL REGRET IT FIRST TIME IT CLOGS AND SPRAYS LIKE YOUR D#*# IN THE MORNING ALL OVER THE TOILET SEAT......LOL

buy a good quality paint gun.... and if ya expect to do ALOT of painting go realy expensive..... and clean the gun out to the EXTREME EVERYTIME YA USE IT! fully taken apart, blown thru, brushed and soaked and redone again... thats the part i hate the most... BUT if ya dont do it just a drop of paint missed can clog the gun and cause some realy bad sprays!

when i paint my civic i have to buy a new paint gun cause my old paint gun was never cleaned out right which is why my trucks paint sucks now....

also best time in my opinion to paint if ya dont have a booth.... early in the spring when it just starts geting warm out... few bugs, few pollen, weed seats floating around.... and just paint it outdoors just be sure to wear a full hat and some cloths that dont have alot of lint on them that could come off and float into the paint... thats my biggest problem... little hairs or lint off my cloths falling in the paint when im leaning over topaint the middle of the car

but its definatly a learning experience... we could tell ya all day long but as soon as ya do it thats when ya realy learn.....

basics are always keep the gun moving BEFORE and AFTER ya spray the paint... and typicaly 50% overlap on layers... and its best for the widest lay down thier ya can..... some paints will even say you must do the full length of the car in one motion... but those are the real difficult sweetest looken paints which i will advise ya not to try.LOL
the right air pressure, temperature, time between coats. and mainly how the paint gun is setup.....
before painting bust out a large piece of paper or cardboard... WHAT EVERs realy large and adjust the gun for the widest even spray with not to much paint flown out...
and another HUGE tip is first layer put the paint on so thin that you can see thru it and let it tack dry before another layer and gradualy get heavier coats, just dont spray to much at one time and make a paint run... tho im sure ya will have quite a few... everyone does while learning.. just a learning experience!

i sugest on a old beater car while learning.LMFAO

Addiction. You live in indiana right? Maybe I might b'able to head down there sometime this summer n you could help me out.. If you wanted to. Haha. Ill buy a good gun n all the paint n sandpaper n stuff and bring it wit me.. I just don't want to mess anything up that's all. Like I don't really want to do it myself the first time.. And I don't plan on makin my car show worthy... yet. So even just good lookin from the outside would be good. Then when I learn more about how to do it... then I'd worry about makin it show worthy.

Like I said too maybe ill try to get a part time job at someplace like maaco or something. Somewhere that I could learn the ropes and then move on from there myself.

That stands out pretty well...

How about like a dark purple/blue... BURPLE.

Nothing stands out more than Ferrari red...

Last but not least, I'm sure this gold-plated boxter turns a lot of heads...
