the clay bar prolly wont do anything. I would just buff it out. You might as well you wax your whole car and do that in the process.

ok. so when trustdestruction said it you buff it too long it could eat the clear coat off, is that like 1 min or like 10 mins?

i'll have to agree with croninc, the clay bar would probably do nothing to the residue. since clay bar is mainly use to remove small particles of dirt from the car's paint. when you run your fingers along the paint of your car, you will feel little bumps, with the use of clay bar, when you run your fingers along the paint it will feel like new paint meaning really smooth.

i would just use rubbing compound to remove it and then wax your car afterwards. I use rubbing compound when i de badged my car 2 years ago. The paint is still perfectly fine in the area till this day. I can't tell that there was a badge there even if i look in that area closely. I don't think it will take too long to remove the residue with rubbing compound. took me maybe 2 or 3 minutes.

BTW if you want to remove bumps of dirt you can't take off just washing your car, i would get the mother's clay bar kit and wax the car. feels like a fresh new paint job.

Yea I tried the clay bar for this same problem and even a straight edge razor... no dice... what is this compound you speak of? What brand? Where do I find it? I want to get mine completely off too... I have a black car btw... and the claybar is the shnizit!
