finally painted valve cover
On my day off today i decided to paint my VC. My original plan was to paint it with Rustoleum hammered gold:

It was looking really good, I got to coat three and then a leaf blew onto the wet paint.
long story short i Ended up using left over black enamel rustoleum. Im still happy with it, but it looks just like everyone elses VC now. My engine bay looked pretty grody before though.

Sometimes looking like everyone else is a good thing... black VCs look best on most cars IMO. I appreciate creative valve covers, but it takes a lot to actually pull them off.
The cover looks like it came out great.

what kind of paint did you use? I didnt use clear coat so we will see, mine might not last either. I wasnt sure if clear coat would stand up to the heat.
I used rustoleum enamel. I used it on my calipers about 6 months ago and they are fine so i figured id be safe with my vc.
