I am tall and the emergency brake handle on my 2006 Civic automatic digs into my right leg. The shape and position of this control is idiotic. Searching the internet, it seems I am not alone in this complaint.

Temporarily, I slipped a pice of foam insulation over the handle and this provides some relief.

A better solution would be to reposition the handle by bending it to the right aproximatley 20-30 degrees. Anyone tried this? Is the handle assembly made from metal or is it all plastic? Is there an illustration or diagram of this component available some where on the 'net? If I could see how it is constructed and mounted I would have a better idea of the feasibility of this idea.
