hmm. seems like you could clean it up real nicely by hand and it wont be to hard to do. for the body(all the red around ur engine and underside of the hood), clean it just like u'd clean the outside of ur car, but by hand. use a wet towel or w/e u would normally use to clean ur car, and wipe all the dirt and grime off. then dip a cloth in some soapy water and clean it up and make it a little more shiney. after u've cleaned all that up, wax it so it protects and shines! as for the tubes, wire covers, and plastic parts i like to use Armor All Protectant, kinda like the stuff u might use for the dash board to make it shiney. for the metal parts, use engine degreaser, or if u dont have any, oven degreaser. it'll take some time and elbo grease but it'll look soooo much better. if you clean ur engine bay maybe once a week for a couple of weeks it'll look awesome. after that, just do it like once a month and it'll be perfect. just to be on the safe side, i'd disconnect the negitive part of the battery so u wont get shocked or anything. try and stay away from exposed wires and all and you should be good to go.
good luck and enjoy!
