interior gauges
i own a 96' turbo civc and i already have a monster tach but i want to install some more gauges? which gaugues are really neccesary? oil/water temp? boost? what else? is it better to have the gauges hidden like in the glove box or where the stock gauge cluster is or should i have them on the pillar? i feel that if they are one the pillar and some one see's that they may be more likely to break into your car where as if no one can see them then they won't know that you have something good in your car. for example, a boost or nitrous gauge shows that your car is fast.. make sense?
if you want to spend the money to put Nitrous gauges or whatever y not just put SI badges, then people would think its an SI. I personally am going to boost my car and put pillar mounts with a big tach like yourself but make them a little less obvious, dash color maybe, or removeable, and put LX or DX logo's on it so they think its a none v-tec 96 civic

if you want3 gauges, id say get boost FOR SURE, oil pressure and oil temp. get a 3 pillar pod...if somebody wants to break in, they are going to do it anyways. or if you have room, i really like gauges underneath the radio in the pocket area.
Oil temperature is my first choice and oil pressure is second. I really like pillar pods. They put the info where you can easily see them at a glance. As far as people breaking in - make sure you have a good alarm system and maybe a pager to go with it.
ok thanks guys. i think i'm gonna get a 3 pillar pod and also the 2 pods that go on the steering column. i'm gonna put oil temp/press and maybe water temp on the pillar and boost and air/fuel ration on my steering column. my car almost looks identical to jhsplaya08's blue si civic. mine is a 96' but with a 2000 si front/rear end conversion and i have black 5 spoke rims. i like what you are doing with the carbon fiber hood/ trunk. very nice. do any of you guys have a turbo timer? if so what kind? i bought the new buddy club turbo timer and it is nice because there is a 4 digit code that must be entered or else the car won't start and if the wires are cut to disable it the engine locks and it won't start. now what brand gauges are good? i was looking at the autometer cobault series and i liked those. any suggestions? what pocket area are you talking about for the gauges???
dont get air/fuel ratio... its not bad but its kinda pointless... my brother had one and all it did was just jump back and forth all the time. he changed it and got a temperature gauge for the intake. its useful if your about power because of the obvious, it allows you to see the air your sucking in.
