ORIGINAL: Masonn

ORIGINAL: cyberx32

also when you tighten the screws, make sure you use a torque wrench and torque them to the right specifications
huh..? oh **** i dont know what that means, i just assumed i had to tighten them as far as theyl go. i should probably borrow a torque wrench from a friend, eh?

I just tighten them as far as they go[&:]. You could use the same gasket if it's in good shape, just add a little gasket sealer to it.

ok, thats good, the guy got me thinking about it... he said that in a long car trip the car tends to heat up quite a bit (the avg car trip up here is about 2.5 hours).. i dunno if he was new or what.. and its 500 degrees farenheit not celcuis if that makes a difference... lol just out of curiosity... whatshould bethe average engine temp on a car?

i did both... new gasket and atouch of hondabond around the cam shaft 90degree spots.... just added security and only needs about a drop... no one likes a painted valve cover with oil sprayed all over it...
and with my new valve cover im painting up im gonna put some loc tight on the bolts... cause on my last painted cover the few side bolts totaly worked themselves out and they are lost
i hope honda doesnt charge to much for replacement bolts... and ya i know i could go hardware store BUT o well no guessing or cutting threads.

but if you wanna do that polished raised lettering that chap stick actualy works great! i painted mine and next day after it was all dry i simply finger scratched the paint off...
i also sanded and polished my raised lettering before i painted the cover. worked great BUT i need to resand the cover cause of some blemishes.... im just to lazy to redue it
