Rust is just like cancer. Once you get it on metal, you can only get rid of it by cutting it out.
Xoopiter, what I would do in the meantime (until Spring) is grind the rust off the best you can and do a temporary touch-up job on it yourself. This will at least slow it down a bit until Springtime.
