ya dude i couldnt get mine off then i turned it real hard and snapped the threading off the inside of the shifter and ya i had to tape it back on yaa, so dont turn to hard

Somebody must've put Loctite red on your shifter threads. That stuff is so strong that you will break something if you try to torque it free without intense heat.
