i have a 97 civic Lx and everything is fine but i have small problem on one of the doors. it seems that some of the paint or coating is pealing off is there a way to prevent this? and whats the cause of it?

 

Is it kind of a cloudy white effect? That's typical of older paint that is oxidized by the sun. You can remove the ruined clear coat with rubbing compound, but you'll have to respray it with clear to "fix" it.

The best way to prevent this from happening is to use wax that has UV protection.

 

fix it before it turns into orange peel.
