Default Sunvisors

My sunvisors are rotten. Every time I use them foam particles attack my eyes. I'd like to replace them. I don't care if I have a vanity mirror. I would really like to take off the existing materials and try to make shift a plastic visor. Has anyone tried this? How is the flat surface attached to the rod? Is it one piece? Or can find.. a better visor that would fit?

eBay! $20 shipped.

If you guy pick one up, make sure to grab like 10-15 1/4" washers from a parts/home store. I have a picture floating around somewhere showing where to put the washers for basically perfect fitment.

lol FIND that PICTURE! haha, I plan on getting one soon when I re-do my interior...

does it block the sun very well? I feel weird getting rid of my visors...but then again, how often do I really use them?

I need something.. I always happen to be driving just as the sun rises or sets.. the more sun I can't see the better.. I have %5 on my window and it's like 3 inches past the legal mark already

Here's one picture showing that I re-used one of the visor screws. I didn't feel like making a bracket to attach to the wink mirror just to reach the other hole. It has been almost a year now with no problems. I re-wrapped the headliner to hide these brackets, too.

I'll take another picture showing the washer placement when I get home a little later.

I never used the visors, I always wear a hat so I didn't mind removing them. The main difference I noticed is it is harder to see the lights change to green if first in the line of traffic. Just duck and look around it and you'll be fine. I enjoy being able to say I have no blind spots
