Thanks for the comps, I'm pretty happy with it. However, the clear top coat stuff has flaked off slightly, but it never really held in the first place. I might redo it next year. Does anyone know if the regular acrylic clear coat will last on top of the engine, or does it have to be high temp? I haven't actually found hi-temp clear coat, I just ended up using this crappy hi temp clear paint. Also, is a primer necessary for this job?

I used high-temp clear coat....found at advance auto parts. I don't think regular acrylic will hold at all.
